Our nursing homes in Newcastle and Sunderland are embracing the National Care Home Open Day initiative with a public invitation to drop in and see us on Friday 19 June.
To mark the event Holy Cross Home in Sunderland is holding a coffee morning with hand massages and nail painting on offer for those who would like a quick pamper session. In the afternoon there will be more refreshments, in the form of a cream tea, with a singing performance by one of the home’s most popular entertainers, Kayley Cares.
Meanwhile, a family reminiscence day is on offer at St Catherine’s, Newcastle. Relatives, friends and guests are welcome to come by in the afternoon and take part in a “Cake and Culture” session. Activities will include a local knowledge and culture quiz – accompanied by some tea and sweet treats!
