Our Newcastle nursing home is offering something for all ages at this year’s summer fete.
“There will be a bottle stall, books, cakes, old-fashioned sweets, kids’ stuff and a raffle,” says St Catherine’s Activities Coordinator, Richard Dobinson. “We’ll be putting up the bunting and, hopefully if the weather is fine, we’ll be able to open the doors out onto the courtyard.”
St Catherine’s fayre is taking place on Saturday 27 June between 2pm and 4pm and everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. Before then if anyone has any donations for the stalls – tombola items, cakes or bottles – please contact Richard at St Catherine’s.
The fayre follows the National Care Home Open Day initiative on Friday 19 June when our nursing homes are set to welcome visitors to view the homes’ facilities and enjoy some refreshments.
Last month, our Holy Cross Home in Sunderland invited residents, relatives and friends to its “mini fete” to raise funds for the amenities fund.
“The spring fayre went really well and we were thrilled to make £532!” said the home’s Activities Coordinator, Clare Quinn, who says she will be using the money to book some acts to perform at Holy Cross in the coming months.
