Music and movement at Holy Cross

Residents at our Sunderland nursing home have been having a tune up – both vocally and physically!

This week the Holy Cross Home was host to the local choir from St Cuthbert’s Church who led the singing in a special Songs of Praise – Favourite Hymns request session. “There was a fantastic turnout and it went really well,” said Activities Coordinator, Clare Quinn. “We have already pencilled-in dates for our autumn and winter Songs of Praise events with the choir.”

Meanwhile, the regular Sit N B Fit trainer, Carol Wallace-Brown, has been putting the residents through their paces as they shape up for summer. During the popular sessions Carol introduces gentle, exercises with pompoms, hoops and maracas which are used to help improve coordination and mobility.

After this week’s workouts residents can take a well-earned rest, sit back and relax while singer, Dee Twentyman, entertains at Holy Cross on Thursday.
