Entertainers at our care homes have been recommending some alternative therapies to our residents.
“A Little of What You Fancy Does You Good” was one of the old time numbers which musician Lydia Roy sang when she visited St Catherine’s Home in Newcastle. Playing keyboard Lydia also charmed her audience with her renditions of “Two Lovely Black Eyes” and “Let’s All Go to the Music Hall”.
Meanwhile, our Sunderland care home residents have been invigorated with a call for “A Little Less Conversation, A Little More Action” after an exciting Elvis Presley performance at Holy Cross.
“Elvis was fantastic! The ladies in particular, loved him,” said Holy Cross coordinator, Clare Quinn. The entertainer was so popular she has booked the King of Rock and Roll impersonator for a follow up performance this Christmas.
The entertainment programme continues throughout the summer at both of our nursing homes with more acts and special events planned. Holy Cross residents are looking forward to a return visit by the Andy Kain Duo this week while at St Catherine’s Lydia returns for another session and there is a new guest, Mark Turner, arriving to go through some gentle armchair exercises and a musical singalong.
