It’s been all hands on deck for Holy Cross residents who have been enjoying some nautically-themed entertainment recently.
HMS Pinafore sailed into view last week as residents watched an abridged DVD version of the Gilbert & Sullivan comic opera. The evening was presented by music appreciation society member, John Lennox who has a relative living in the home.
Then it was All Aboard again when entertainer, Sadie, took residents on a musical cruise around the world.
“It was certainly different, with several costume changes depending on where in the world she was,” said Holy Cross Activities Coordinator, Clare Quinn. “The residents really enjoyed it as her choice of songs were well known to them all.”
Clare said the residents are looking forward to a repeat performance. “One of the residents said it was one of the best acts she’s seen, so we have booked her again for Christmas. That show will be called Once Upon a Star,” said Clare.
