Choir’s ‘Cicha noc, święta noc’ delights Polish resident

There was a special surprise in store for one of our Holy Cross residents when a local choir visited to perform a seasonal carol service.

Like everyone at the carol service, Polish-born Jan was captivated by the talents of the senior choir from St Anthony’s Catholic Academy, but it was the opening verse of Silent Night, sung in Polish, that stole the show.

“The chapel was full, with many visitors who had come especially to see the choir and it was a truly moving experience for everyone,” said Holy Cross Activity Co-ordinator, Clare Quinn. “It meant so much to Jan and he was visibly moved.”

The carol concert was one of a selection of seasonal choral treats enjoyed by our residents recently, with visits from St Mary’s Primary School and St Joseph’s Primary School attracting record numbers, too.
