Christmas Day in our St Catherine’s Nursing Home was made extra special for each and every resident thanks to a group of very organised volunteers!
The early-bird volunteers had their turkey prepared and their Brussels sprouts peeled well in time to fit in a visit to St Catherine’s where they turned on the Christmas music and gave out gifts to everyone.
Festive drinks, warm wishes and some yuletide conversation were shared as the volunteers spent time with each resident and helped unwrap the Christmas presents.
The occasion was made even more special when staff and residents surprised duty RGN, Abby, with a cake to mark her Christmas Day birthday.
“Everyone had a lovely time – I’m not sure who enjoyed themselves more, the residents or the volunteers!” said Volunteer Co-ordinator, Nicola Milne.
