Every Sunday morning, members of Hirst Progressive Social Club in Ashington collect their spare change for St Cuthbert’s Care.
This year, the club raised £700 and our Fundraising Manager, Nicola Milne went to meet club members and club Secretary, John Wrightson, to say thank you.
“For over 40 years the members of Hirst Progressive Club have supported our work in the community, raising in excess of £30,000”, said Nicola. “We can’t thank them enough; support like this is vital if we wish to continue to making a genuine difference to those in most need throughout our region.”
John added, “Every Sunday morning, we pass the plate around and everyone puts in their spare change. We can get as little as £10 and as much as £30, but every penny counts! The club is very pleased to help such a worthwhile cause.”
