It may be early in the year for seaside outings, but a group of residents from our Holy Cross Nursing Home found much to enjoy on their trip to Roker recently.
After a pleasant journey by minibus, the group arrived at the cosy Cliff pub and restaurant, where everyone was given a very warm welcome and an unexpected surprise.
When staff greeted the group to settle them at their tables, they learned that their two course meal and drinks were all to be on the house! Their delicious lunch of fish and chips or curry and rice was followed by sponge pudding and custard and everything was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
“It was such a lovely surprise to be told we were being treated to a free meal because of our valued custom,” said Holy Cross Activity Co-ordinator, Clare Quinn. “Eating at the Cliff is always a favourite with our residents and the staff couldn’t be nicer. We’d all like to say a massive thank you to them.”
