Ribbons and bows, chicks and rabbits, flowers and feathers – nothing was out of bounds for our Holy Cross residents when it came to decorating their Easter bonnets.
The seasonal craft session attracted a record crowd to the nursing home’s activity room where everyone indulged in some friendly competition for the prizes on offer.
This was one of the first activities for new resident, Rita Render who was delighted to be presented with a runner-up prize and told staff she hadn’t laughed so much in years. Studious attention to detail paid off for resident, Maureen Walton who also won a runner-up prize, but the top prize of a delicious, large Easter egg went to fellow resident, Brian Jackson for his feather-topped creation.
“I can’t imagine any of the hats being worn at Ascot,” said the home’s Activity Co-ordinator, Clare Quinn, “but it wasn’t the finished items that mattered. Everyone set out to have a really lovely time together and they definitely achieved that!”
