New St Catherine’s Nursing Home resident, Lily Ross, enjoyed a taste of the Chinese healing art of Tai Chi for the first time when instructor Wendy Chan paid one of her regular visits to the home.
The gentle yet challenging movements are enjoyed by residents in the home every month and, as well as helping them to stay as mobile as possible, give everyone taking part a real boost to their sense of well-being.
During the sessions, residents are given careful, individual instruction and are then able to practise the movements together as a group.
“I really enjoy exercise and I felt lovely and relaxed afterwards,” said Lily. “I’ll definitely go back next time.”
