When Star Wars gets into your blood, you just have to go with the flow and service users from our Parkhead Day Centre for adults with learning disabilities in Ashington have done exactly that!
When it came to celebrating Star Wars Day on May 4th, our Parkhead service users took their intergalactic passion to the (outer) limits, turning everyday items into cosmic specialties.
Setting the lunch table with star-patterned table runners, the scene was set for a scrumptious meal of ‘Han burgers’ and ‘Tie Fighter Fries’ followed by ‘Jabba Jelly’ and ‘Wookie Cookies’ with a good helping of ‘Yoda Soda’, too!
“Everyone had a great day and really got into the Star Wars mood,” said Parkhead Manager, Claire Graham. “After watching ‘The Phantom Menace’ everyone was ready to try their hand at some lightsabre battles, but, thankfully, our Jedi Knights were much friendlier than their Hollywood counterparts!”
