Clients attending St Joseph’s – our specialist day centre in Gateshead for people with dementia – dusted off their dancing shoes and vocal talents to join in with their latest visiting entertainer.
Local singer/songwriter, Christine Rosemond, had recently entertained residents at our St Catherine’s Nursing Home and when word spread to our St Joseph’s Day Centre about how well she had been received, a booking was quickly made.
The visit to St Joseph’s was also a huge hit and many couldn’t resist joining in with the popular songs. Some, like regular client, George, even enjoyed a dance or two trying his hand at ‘The Twist’ with staff member Carole.
“We certainly had a packed house, with many relatives joining in, too,” said St Joseph’s Manager, Flavia Myers. “There was a great atmosphere with people singing and up dancing and our staff couldn’t resist a stab at the limelight by being backing singers, too!”
