With all their years of experience of the north east weather, our St Catherine’s Nursing Home residents know you should never miss the chance to catch a bit of sunshine when you can.
When they heard that there was a bus trip along the coast planned, several couldn’t wait to set off. Once clear of the city it was a pleasant run to take in the views from Whitley Bay to Blyth, where they found a comfy café for a coffee break. Then it was on to Dobbies Garden Centre in Ponteland for lunch and a potter around the plants.
The real highlight though turned out to be the tropical fish at Dobbies. Our Community Services Manager, Joanne Bulford, who helped to arrange the trip said, “The colourful fish in the aquarium were a great hit. We spent ages watching them and people were still talking about them the next day. Everyone is looking forward to another visit soon.”
