Residents at our Sunderland-based Holy Cross Nursing Home and many of their relatives packed into the home’s large lounge to enjoy a memorable evening of entertainment and nostalgia recently.
Travelling theatre company, Northeast Producers, wowed everyone at the home with their latest show, ‘Mother Knows Best’, which focuses on all the trials and tribulations of a mother/daughter relationship.
Set in the 50’s and 60’s, everyone enjoyed sharing in the nostalgia and there were more than a few wry smiles at some of the motherly quips in the show.
Songs such as ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, ‘How Do You Like Your Eggs In the Morning’ and ‘Que Sera Sera’ added to the feel-good atmosphere and many people couldn’t help but sing along.
“Everyone really enjoyed the show and we had lots of positive comments,” said Holy Cross Activity Coordinator, Clare Quinn. “In fact, people loved it so much that we’ve booked them to come back at Christmas when I’m sure there’ll be more fun to be had!”
