The recent long spells of warm sunshine provided the perfect excuse for a small group of our St Catherine’s residents to enjoy another summer trip out.
Ann, Agnes and Pat were accompanied by activity co-ordinator, Kat, and volunteer, Ellen, to explore the historic market town of Hexham and, of course, visit the famous Abbey.
Everyone was impressed by the stunning architecture of the Abbey and fascinated by its rich history. After a good look around and a little bask in the sunshine, it was time to head to the café for refreshments.
“Our residents definitely enjoyed being ‘ladies who lunch’,” said Kat. “They loved the posh sandwiches and the pots of tea were served just the way they like it. On the journey home, we agreed it had been a perfect day all round.”
