There was no shortage of fun and laughter when the ever-popular Puppets returned to our Holy Cross Nursing Home in Sunderland recently.
The puppet characters are so charismatic they are treated like old friends whenever they visit to entertain our residents and, this time, a new puppet companion joined the throng.
The Country and Western-styled puppet soon had everyone joining in with much-loved songs, including a fascinating performance of ‘I Was Born Under a Wandering Star’.
The talented Clare Cooper has her puppets cover a range of popular songs which never fail to leave our residents wanting more.
“The performance covered everything from popular Elvis songs – sung by the Elvis puppet, of course – to old time music hall favourites like ‘Any Old Iron’,” said Holy Cross activity co-ordinator, Clare Quinn. “Our residents love the Puppets and were asking me to book them for a return visit before they even left the building!”
