Young Alan Shearer Activity Centre member, Adam, was the star of the show when he took part in our latest free weekend event at the Centre.
Obviously enjoying being in the spotlight at our fun karaoke session, Adam, was a natural in front of the microphone and had all the moves to go with his favourite songs, too.
After warming up with renditions of ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and the perennial favourite, ‘YMCA’, Adam chose Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ to strike a pose for the camera.
“Adam usually comes along to the Centre with others from the North East Autism Society,” said Centre Recreation Assistant, Jan Rootham, “so I think he was enjoying having the spotlight all to himself!”
Our activities are free for disabled people, so if you’re looking for something to do this Saturday, why not try your hand at making some special winter treats to feed the birds. We’ll provide everything you need to make the treats and you can take them home with you to feed the birds in your own garden.
Our ‘Feed the Birds’ activity is suitable for all ages and our friendly recreation assistants will be on hand to lend some support, too.
To book your place, ring our Centre on 0191 2678118.
