Elsie bakes up a VIP treat

The latest baking session at our St Joseph’s Day Centre for people with dementia produced some very tasty treats for afternoon tea, but one of our clients has a rather unusual house guest waiting to enjoy the fruits of her labours.

Elsie, who is a keen regular at St Joseph’s in Gateshead, loves taking part in all the activities on offer at the day centre, but she particularly enjoys baking and sharing her signature scones with the VIP in her life.

The VIP in this case stands for ‘very important pussycat’, as Elsie’s generous nature means she even shares her baking with her cat, Trixie.

“I’m reliably informed that Trixie was very pleased with her baked treat,” said St Joseph’s manager, Flavia Myers. “The little cat is often waiting to meet Elsie when she comes home from spending time with us – and now we know why!”
