There’s tea and biscuits on demand at any time for our St Catherine’s Nursing Home residents – but sometimes only homemade will do.
Family Liaison Manager, Joanne Bulford, has been rolling her sleeves up and getting stuck-in to help some of her ladies bake their own shortbread biscuits. The home’s chef provided the recipe and measured out all the ingredients, so all that was needed was a bit of mixing, rolling and cutting.
St Catherine’s star baker, Helen (whose cheese scones made our news a while ago) said she would have liked some lemon to add to the mixture, but necessity being the mother of invention, she improvised by using a little drop of her cloudy lemonade.
Joanne said, “Baking is featuring more and more often in our activity sessions – by popular demand. It really helps to make everyone feel “at home” in St Catherine’s.”
