She may never have appeared on TV, but Vian Dickinson is certainly a celebrity chef at our Parkhead Resource Centre for adults with learning disabilities.
Vian is celebrating 20 years at the centre in Ashington, during which time she has supported countless service users in gaining the skills and confidence they need to work in a kitchen environment. Not to mention inspiring them to try new recipes and discover how much they are capable of cooking for themselves.
Vian was presented with a bouquet to mark her 20th anniversary by Parkhead regulars Jon, Laura, Peter and Christine.
“In the 20 years I’ve worked here, no two days have been the same,” said Vian. “ I love working with the service users and seeing them learn and develop skills makes me so proud. It’s a very rewarding part of my job.”
Congratulations Vian, and thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication.
