Members of our Parkhead Resource Centre in Ashington can enjoy a well-earned rest now, after all the hard work they put into organising this year’s Summer Fair.
The annual fundraising event, at our centre for adults with learning disabilities, is always well supported by the members’ relatives, friends and neighbours, and this year’s fair attracted a large turnout as usual.
Tombola, a crafts stall and a raffle were all on offer, but the biggest attraction must have been the delicious selection of chocolatey muffins specially made for the occasion.
Centre Manager, Claire Graham, said “Everyone agreed that they had a fantastic day – but they were looking forward to going home and putting their feet up after a hard day’s fundraising. All the money we raised will secure the deposit for our Christmas lunch.”
