Pope Francis has called for World Day of the Poor to be observed for the first time on Sunday, 19 November, appealing for everyone to ‘love, not with words, but with deeds’.
To mark World Day of the Poor, our charity has committed to help one of our diocesan parish and community enablement (PACE) projects to provide lunch, gifts and take-away food parcels to 40 plus adults on Christmas Day. As well as undertaking to fund the costs, many of our staff will be volunteering their time to offer a warm welcome to anyone in need of food and companionship.
