The party season is in full swing and many of our service users have been enjoying some special celebrating themselves.
The annual disco at our Alan Shearer Activity Centre attracted a record number of guests this year and, as always, a good time was had by all. A surprise addition to the festivities, however, came in the shape of a bowling-themed cake which had been skilfully made by one of our talented recreation assistants and was presented to Centre volunteer, Barbara, to mark her 60th birthday.
Meanwhile, a few miles north in Ashington, some of our Parkhead Resource Centre regulars were letting their hair down with residents living in our Alnwick-based adult residential home.
The joint party was held in the town’s YMCA, which gave plenty of room for the event’s packed programme as well as all the friends and family who joined in, too.
A traditional turkey dinner may often be followed by a nap, but not for our lively bunch. Their post-lunch disco was a massive hit with everyone packing the dance floor to strut their stuff to the festive tunes.
