Hair-raising fundraising

Two staff team members from our Alan Shearer Residential home have soared to new heights to raise funds in support of our Alan Shearer Activity Centre.

Fundraising through the Alan Shearer Foundation, Senior Residential Care Officer, Jess and Residential Care Officer, Claire have just completed a nerve-shredding sky dive, raising over £500 for the Centre so far – and sponsorship is still rolling in.

Cheered on by the rest of the staff team and a few of the residents, too, Jess and Claire couldn’t wait to reach for the skies.

“We’d never done a sky dive before but always wanted to do one,” said Jess. “So, we thought this was a great way of ticking it off our bucket list while raising money for the Centre – a place we both love and care about so much. We love seeing the positive impact the Centre has on the community and the joy it brings to everyone who uses it; it’s a great feeling to be able to contribute to that.

“We were so excited about doing the sky dive and the feeling of freefalling through the air was indescribable! We both agreed it was the best experience of our lives and can’t wait to do another one.”

A massive thanks to you both for your incredible feat!
