Down Syndrome Awareness Month – Stephen

During Down Syndrome Awareness Month, our Hub@Parkhead member, Stephen, couldn’t wait to wave his placard to show everyone his ambition.

“I would love to work in ASDA,” he said. “I could speak to everyone while they get their shopping.” Thanks to the centre’s close ties with the local ASDA store, Stephen will soon be enjoying a taster of what it’s like to do just that.

This friendly young man is kind and thoughtful, making sure the birds in the grounds of the Hub are well fed and helping his friends and fellow members with everything and anything.

One of his favourite things is helping and encouraging new members when they join and as a mine of information, he’ll often keep them entertained, too.

He’d be the happiest man alive if he could visit Hogwarts and there would be no doubt he’d choose Gryffindor if the sorting hat allowed!

Knight in shining armour to so many of his friends, we’re sure there’d be no hesitation.
