Residents living in our St Catherine’s nursing home in Newcastle and Holy Cross nursing home in Sunderland have been wearing their poppies with pride and creating stunning displays around their homes.
Their moving commemorations include poppy tributes and lovingly crafted displays in our chapels in remembrance of all those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.
There has been time for song and celebration, too, with entertainment from D-Day Dollies and Claire-Louise giving everyone the chance to sing along to some much-loved wartime songs.
“It’s been an honour to take part in the commemorations,” said Trevor.
