The staff team at our St Catherine’s nursing home are delighted to have received a near-perfect score from Newcastle City Council in its latest Quality Standards Monitoring report.
Scoring 399 out of a possible 400 points, this impressive achievement is being dedicated to Duty Manager, Jacqui Buchanan who sadly passed away unexpectedly last month.
Jacqui worked with the St Catherine’s team for over eight years and was known for her gentle kindness and immense compassion.
Featured in our residents’ newsletter in 2024, Jacqui described the best part of her job as ‘building relationships with our residents’ family and friends’ and showed her quiet humour by sharing a favourite saying that she learned from her mum: ‘every day is a glorious day, some less glorious than others’.
“Jacqui was committed to making sure everything was the best it could be for our residents,” said Gill, Director of Nursing Homes. “She played such an instrumental part in achieving this incredible result, we all felt so strongly that it would be lovely to dedicate it to her.”
