Across our services, people are getting involved in different ways, from rocking their odd socks (a symbol of the uniqueness of chromosomes) to sharing information and starting conversations about Down syndrome and inclusion.
At The Hub@Parkhead, members have been exploring the meaning behind World Down Syndrome Day, helping to raise awareness of chromosomes and why difference should be celebrated.
Meanwhile, the Alan Shearer Activity Centre is hosting a fantastic event, welcoming Down Syndrome North East and a special performance from True Colours, an inclusive theatre group, a fantastic celebration of talent, creativity and inclusion in action.
Together, we’re proud to stand alongside people with Down syndrome, celebrating individuality and championing a more inclusive world for all.
