We were delighted to welcome volunteers from Journey Enterprise, a local charity supporting adults with disabilities, to the Alan Shearer Centre to officially launch our new partnership together.
Volunteers from three Journey hubs across the North East joined us for a truly special day, marking the beginning of a collaboration that will see them volunteering regularly in our gardens.
The sun shone, spirits were high and the day was filled with fun, laughter and a real sense of togetherness. Our guests got stuck in, spending time exploring the gardens and getting to know the Centre, while sharing stories, smiles and plenty of enthusiasm along the way.
This partnership is about so much more than gardening. It’s about community, connection and creating welcoming, outdoor spaces that everyone can enjoy. We’re incredibly grateful to Journey Enterprise and their volunteers for their support and energy and we’re looking forward to seeing our gardens flourish as this partnership grows.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for making the launch such a memorable and joyful occasion.
