We were delighted to come together for two wonderful Masses celebrating this year’s Good Shepherd Appeal, marking a very special milestone as our charity celebrates its 80th anniversary.
For the past eight decades, schools have generously supported our work throughout Lent through our Good Shepherd Appeal. This year, alongside fundraising, we invited schools to take part in “80 Acts of Kindness”, encouraging young people to put compassion into action and help mark our anniversary in meaningful ways – from something as small, yet so significant, as ‘if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours’.
The first Mass was held at St Michael’s Church, Newcastle, with music beautifully provided by students from Sacred Heart High School. Our second celebration took place at St Joseph’s Church, Hartlepool, where music was wonderfully led by Our Lady and St Bede’s High School.
We are incredibly grateful to the schools, musicians, clergy and parish communities who helped make these celebrations so special. Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Good Shepherd Appeal and inspire kindness, generosity and hope in our communities.
