Members at our Hub@Parkhead day centre in Ashington have been out on a bug hunt in honour of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.
Armed with magnifying glasses and charts to help them identify what they find, our intrepid explorers enjoyed foraging for bugs – and basking in the spring sunshine.
The bug hunt marked the start of a whole day dedicated to the environment, with a fun but educational quiz, jungle-themed party food, seed planting and an animal-themed karaoke thrown in for good measure.
“We’re so lucky to have such wonderful grounds and outside spaces,” said manager, Claire. “We take every opportunity to get outside and explore and there’s no-one more inspirational in that area than Sir David Attenborough. We hope he has a magnificent 100th birthday!”
