Giving our foster carers the opportunity to come together to share advice and experiences doesn’t always have to happen in a formal support group. Recently, our Fostering North East team hosted a relaxed picnic in the park for foster carers and the young people in their care.
With the team on hand to offer support during the event, carers could take a little time to unwind and enjoy each other’s company, while the young people played, explored and simply enjoyed being children – creating happy, shared memories in a safe and welcoming space.
The picnic is just one of a series of informal get-togethers organised by our Fostering North East team as part of their 24/7 support for foster carers and one of their regular social opportunities for our fostered ‘Young Stars’.
We’re always looking for people who feel they can provide the care, stability and encouragement children need to thrive when they can’t live with their own families. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, why not start a conversation with our friendly team? There’s no pressure – just the chance to find out more.
