There were smiles, laughter and plenty of reasons to celebrate as members, families, staff and supporters came together to mark the 30th anniversary of The Hub@Parkhead in Ashington.
For 30 years, The Hub@Parkhead has been a place where adults with learning disabilities can develop new skills, build confidence, make lasting friendships and enjoy being part of their community. Today, more than 40 members attend the service each week.
The anniversary celebrations were officially opened by Ian Lavery MP and included games, music, dancing and a special awards ceremony recognising members’ achievements and contribution to life at The Hub.
Nic Gilbert, Chief Executive of St Cuthbert’s Care, said:
“For 30 years, The Hub@Parkhead has been changing lives. We are incredibly proud of all that has been achieved and grateful to our members, families, staff, volunteers and supporters who have made The Hub such a special place.”
As The Hub@Parkhead enters its fourth decade, it remains committed to helping adults with learning disabilities learn new skills, build friendships and live active, fulfilling lives.
