Our St Catherine’s courtyard garden has been buzzing with picnickers enjoying an al fresco feast to mark Dementia Week.
Our residents and their families gathered to try out some delicious finger food which had been specially prepared by our talented chef.
The bite-sized, colourful snacks are packed with nutrition to make sure it’s easy for our residents – especially those living with dementia – to eat a balanced diet.
Supported by our Dementia Lead, Dr Ruth Cromarty and joined by student volunteers from nearby St Cuthbert’s High School, our residents had a brilliant afternoon and gave the picnic a big thumbs up.
“I love a picnic,” said our resident, Nancy. “It reminds me of all the times we used to picnic with the children.”
Let’s hope yesterday’s get together measures up to those memories, Nancy.
