Booklovers at our St Catherine’s nursing home in Newcastle were delighted when a delivery of hand-crafted bookmarks arrived from their friends at Sacred Heart High School.
The surprise package from the students contained bookmarks bearing special messages, individual designs and Christmas wishes – all in cheerful, festive colours.
One of the first residents to receive her bookmark, Moira, was thrilled to be able to pick from the selection.
“How lovely,” she said, “and how thoughtful of the girls to think of us. They’re all gorgeous, it’s hard to choose.”
Moira finally settled on a bookmark that read ‘spread the positivity this Christmas.’ “What great advice,” she said with a smile.
Thank you to Sacred Heart and the many other students from local schools who have helped to spread lots of Christmas cheer to our residents.
