Giving a gentle welcome to new year activities

Carer and Selma finishing a jigsaw of United Kingdom and Ireland

Residents living in our St Catherine’s nursing home in Newcastle are breaking themselves in gently this January with some simple activities to get them back in the swing of things.

Top of the list of things to do at the moment are jigsaws and our lovely resident, Selma, chose a map of Great Britain and Ireland as her first challenge of the new year.

“It was quite tricky,” said Selma, “and a good job I had some of the carers pop over to give me a hand.”

In no time at all, though, the puzzle was complete and the achievement gave Selma and her helpers plenty to smile about.
