Our nursing home residents aren’t only wearing their poppies with pride, they’re extremely proud that their handmade wreaths and tributes are the focus of their Remembrance Day commemorations.
Heartfelt commemorations displayed around the two homes include a carpet of poppies leading to a silhouette of a soldier and a mural showing a faithful dog giving a supporting paw to a kneeling soldier.
Residents at both homes have dedicated their time to making dozens of poppies, some of which have been made into wreaths which they will lay in their chapels as part of their Remembrance Day services.
“It has been an honour to be involved in making the tributes,” said St Catherine’s resident, Selma.
