No stopping Kathleen at 100 years young

Kathleen, resident at St Catherines Nursing home celebrating her 100th birthday with cake and her card from the queen

At 100 years young, Kathleen, who lives in our St Catherine’s nursing home, was the life and soul of the party when friends, relatives and fellow residents got together to celebrate her milestone birthday.

Our home’s conservatory lounge was packed with party-goers enjoying a sing-song with entertainer, Christine Rosemond, followed by a special birthday buffet complete with celebratory fizz and hand-decorated cake.

Kathleen sang along and danced in her wheelchair, only taking a breather to open her gifts and birthday cards – including that long-awaited card from the Queen.

Among the family and friends who gathered for the celebrations were Kathleen’s son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Jackie and daughter, Margaret.

“My mum had a wonderful time,” said Margaret. “I can’t thank the staff at St Catherine’s enough for helping the party go with a swing. We really enjoyed the day and there are certainly some treasured photos to add to the family album.”

Best wishes from us all on your 100th birthday, Kathleen!
