Perfect toms from our Parkhead garden

Salad doesn’t come much fresher than this – the first crop of tomatoes collected from our very own Parkhead garden.

The tasty toms have been grown and nurtured by staff and regulars at our Resource Centre in Ashington for months and James, pictured, had the honour of picking the very first fruit.

“James watered the plants every day he was here and was thrilled to be asked to pick the first fruits,” said manager, Claire. “We have had a sneaky taste and they’re delicious.”
