Staff and young people at our Auton Newcastle children’s home have celebrated Second Hand September by putting on the style.
With summer outfits being put aside to make way for snuggly autumn ensembles, it was a great reason to have a clear out and donate unwanted items to charity.
Armed with bags of pre-loved goodies, Trainee Deputy Manager, Ayesha took one of our young people to a local charity shop to hand over the donations and browse the racks of tempting fashions.
Keeping their promise to buy less than they brought, they choose just a couple of items to bring home.
“I know climate change is important,” said our young person, “but I had no idea how much impact clothing had on our environment!”
What a brilliant example of sustainable shopping.
