Young people at our Auton Sunderland residential children’s home celebrated the importance of friendship by making it the focus of their activities.
Starting by making friendship bracelets for one another, they also chose their favourite poems and sayings about friendship and discussed what it means to have good friends they can count on.
And their spotlight on friendship didn’t stop at people.
“We watched a film about the loyalty and friendship between a dog and its owner,” said Senior Residential Care Officer, Ayesha. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”
Thankfully, there were plenty of friends around to cheer each other up once the film finished.
