When it’s just too hot to take a trip to the beach, staff at our Holy Cross nursing home had the perfect the solution – bring the beach to their residents.
Sand, beach balls, giant tennis and a themed photo booth, all helped to recreate the feel of a trip to the seaside without the need for a stuffy journey.
Add in some seaside sandwiches, the chance to build sandcastles, some favourite music from the 70’s and the occasional knotted hankie headwear and our residents were soon swapping memories of great family times at the beach.
“I had a marvellous time,” said Kathleen. “We had such a laugh together remembering the good old days by the sea.”
Sounds like everyone had a whale of a time!
