A candidate applying for a carer position with our St Catherine’s nursing home has been appointed after getting the final seal of approval from one of our home residents. Our resident, Dorothy, took an active part in the interview process together with Registered Manager Gill and, after considering all candidates together, was delighted to inform Demi Leigh that she had been successful in her appointment.
“I was really impressed with Demi,” said Dorothy. “I asked her lots of questions about the practical side of her job and she gave some very good answers. Of course, I couldn’t resist asking if she made a good cup of tea, too!” Helping to make staff appointments is just one way our residents are able to take an active part in the running of our home and often share their thoughts and ideas at regular resident meetings and their activity forum.
